Located just thirty minutes west of Albuquerque in the Highland Meadows subdivision, this 1.33 acre lot is perfect for anyone seeking privacy, beautiful surroundings and an escape from the ever increasing cost-of-living in the city. In fact, owning land in this area - a subdivision conveniently located between both the I-40 and Highway 6 - will afford you easy commutes back and forth between work and home whether your job is in Albuquerque or nearby Los Lunas. In addition, Highland Meadows is ideal for site-built, mobile or modular homes, as it has not only permissive zoning but also power and well maintained roads throughout the region. Best of all, however, are the views. This lot sits within the foothills of the towering rock formation that borders it to its northeast, and within easy driving distance of the awe-inspiring Mesa Redonda to its south. Admire both from afar or use your free time to hike the trails and hillsides of both. Either way, you’ll find there’s a lot to like about this affordable, secluded and picturesque region.

Things To Know:
  • Highland Meadows sits very close to Highway 6, Route 66 and the I-40 corridor. This means you’ll have easy access to nearby Los Lunas and Albuquerque.

  • While there are no stores within Highland Meadows itself, the nearest Wal-Mart Super Center can be found in Los Lunas, and is a quick twenty minute drive along the scenic Highway 6.

  • The Highland Meadows Volunteer Fire Department is nearby and services the home owners specifically in this region.

  • The Route 66 Casino & Hotel is located only twenty minutes away along the I-40. This casino has gaming and restaurants such as the hotel buffet, Thunder Road Steakhouse and Cantina and Johnny Rockets.

  • This land is in the attendance area of Sundance Elementary School, Los Lunas Middle School and Los Lunas High School.

  • A large cell tower is built within this subdivision (see photo gallery at the bottom of this page) and our photographer reported excellent cell service while shooting this and other Highland Meadows properties.

Property Specific Notes:
  • This property sits off of Highway 6. It consists of a largely flat terrain which should be easy to build or park an RV or mobile home on. While there is fencing up along the highway seperating the land from the road, there is legal access to the property and a cut out further down the road from which you can exit Highway 6 to make your way to the land. It is our understanding that the county is also willing to work with land owners to create direct access from the paved Highway 6 to the property itself, much as they've done for the residences across the street.

  • While there are no power lines on this property, there is a utility box on the land providing power to residences across the street which could most likely be used to service any structure on the subjecty property. Contact the local utility company to learn more.

  • The Mesa Redonda is located roughly three miles southeast of this property and presents breath taking scenic views and plenty of trails of explore.

  • This property was closed on and its title insured through New Mexico Land And Title.
